The legal framework governing the Creation of a Framework for Spin-off Companies is defined in Law 4864/2021 (ΦΕΚ Α’ 237/02.12.2021) «Στρατηγικές επενδύσεις και βελτίωση του επενδυτικού περιβάλλοντος μέσω της επιτάχυνσης διαδικασιών στις ιδιωτικές και στρατηγικές επενδύσεις, δημιουργία πλαισίου για τις εταιρείες τεχνοβλαστούς και άλλες επείγουσες διατάξεις για την ανάπτυξη» (Part C)
The University of Western Macedonia Senate’s decision E1/S158/16-03-2022 approved the Uni-versity’s Technology Transfer Regulation in order to formulate a clear framework regarding the technology transfer policy, in full harmonization with the current legal provisions. It clarifies the procedures regarding the economic exploitation of research results, the registration of new knowledge by issuing Patents, the licensing of rights for the purpose of their use and commercial exploitation and, finally, the use of these revenues to finance the educational and research activity of the Institution and the financial recognition and contribution of researchers/inventors.
